Origins:
Chia is native to the geographical area of the Aztec Empire, previously the Olmec and later Toltec civilizations. This area is located in Southern Mexico, where the climate and soil quality is optimal for growing high quality Chia, indeed much of the wilderness here is rife with wild Chia strains.
Authentic Chia from high altitude ancient Aztec Volcanic mountainside cultivation sites where OroVerde Export is sustainably cultivating over 250 acres of locally sourced Authentic Aztec Chia in this area for the 2009 growing season
